REVEREND DAN LEWIS

Rev. Lewis is an ordained elder in the California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He grew up within the church family and stepped into full-time appointed ministry in 1999 when appointed to serve the Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry at the University of Wyoming, Laramie. He has since pastored five other United Methodist churches in Hawaii and Southern California.
He received specialized training for Congregational Development and Revitalization by the United Methodist Church and is called to make church language and rituals more accessible to those outside of the church culture.

Dan lives in Downtown Long Beach with his husband Kerry and an evolving assortment of small aquatic creatures.
PASTOR OF COMMUNITY & CONNECTION - REV. MELINDA TETER DODGE
​
With a passion for Christian ministry with today’s young people and families, the Rev. Melinda Teter Dodge has served the Los Altos United Methodist Church under appointment since July 2011. Beginning in 2020, she now leads Being the Church - Long Beach, the collaborative community ministries of Grace, California-Heights, and Los Altos United Methodist churches.
​
She has previously led youth and family ministries at other United Methodist churches and was the founding Executive Director for The Work of Angels Group, a 501(c)3 serving transitional-aged foster youth. Beyond the church, Melinda loves international theatre and opera, and been part of over 350 performances and 70+ operas with the Los Angeles Opera, San Francisco Opera and Houston Grand Opera, among others.

Melinda holds a Master of Divinity from the Claremont School of Theology and a Master of Arts
in Theatre from the University of Michigan. She resides in Long Beach with her husband, the Rev. Johan Dodge, and two children. She is fond of a good cup of coffee, yoga, baking, and is always up for an adventure!
